Herb Mother

My friend Latisha.  She is amazing!  She works magic with plants and herbs, she teaches me how to be more fully present in the nature around me.  She blesses my life.

We got together about a week ago and I had the pleasure of watching her while she worked her magic.  She showed me how she harvests nettle.  She made a couple tinctures, and an oil.  She made a salve (which I got to take home) and some tea.  When Latisha works with plants, she is creating art.  Truly.  I feel lucky that I was able to spend the morning with her and her girls as they worked together.  These photo’s are from the first in 2 sessions we will be doing, and was completely different than any other session I have done before.  It was really fun to just follow her around with my camera and try to capture her in her element.

If you have ever been interested in learning more about practical ways to use plants and herbs in your life, please visit Latisha’s site.  She has completely changed the way I look at the world around me and taught me so much.

I have created a slideshow using some of the images from our session and a song I know holds a special place in Latisha’s heart.  Thank you Latisha for letting me share this experience with you.

[...] Oh! And just because I can’t take great pictures, doesn’t mean I can’t hire someone else to. My dear friend Georgia came over the other day while we were making medicine and followed us around with her camera. Check out the magic she made over at her blog here. [...]
